Sports Programs

I recently heard that some schools, like Andrew Hill,Silver Creek, and other high school have had their sport programs taken away to save money for the school.
I think that this is a HUGE mistake. A lot of those kids use sports for discipline and to keep out of trouble. What are they supposed to now? And students whose probably only chance to get into college were from a sports scholarship? Already a lot of colleges are dropping their acceptance rates dramitically, making it harder for people who are very talented in acedemics or sports to have a chance in college.
I don't know much about this whole issue, but I do know that these schools can't complain if there are more fights or more suspensions/expulsions form their schools. Again, students use them as a way to steer clear of trouble.

Photosynthesis rap

I think that the assignment we had to do wasn't a total waste of time. We did a project that had captured almost everyone's intrest. Most students don't do many music related projects, and I think that it had us work using a different part of our brain that hasn't been used in a while. I won't lie, though. It was very hard to come up with lyrics that kept time with the beat and still made sense. Half the time I was racking my brain with my partner and thinking of ways to ryhme things with 'photosynthesis' and finding a beat to go with our poorly made song.
But it made the process of the light indepent/dependant reactions easier to understand than before. Doing a lab about photosynthesis would probably make me more confused about the subject than making a song about it.
