Science Fair
Science fair projects do not teach science. Most projects that are done are out of curiosity, not to learn he subject itself. Some projects that are chosen are very simple. A project like this is which type of chocolate melts faster. Students may chose simple projects like this that don't require much work to them. But there are projects that are very advanced like checking whether there is a connection o eating breakfast everyday and school performance. It also depends on the total interest of the student who is doing the project as well. One student may express more interest in science and may pick a more advanced topic than other students may.

What you said is very true. There are some outside factors that will determine if a student learns. In many cases, teachers set such low expectations that the students end up doing somewhat "nonsensical" projects. But I do think, however, that science fair projects teach you how to process information, document data, and improves your critical thinking skills. Thanks for the post.
